Facilities Division had four Finance & Business Awards for Excellence Winners.

Rick Hinton, Lisa Johnson, Sarah Ketchem, and Andy Langdon were named winners during the ceremony. They each received $250 check, 8 additional hours of annual leave, an engraved clock, and the opportunity to represent Finance and Business at the University Awards for Excellence Ceremony on June 12 at the Hunt Library auditorium.

They are pictured below with Vice Chancellor Leffler and Associate Vice Chancellor MacNaughton.

Tour of Milking Barn
Admin Professionals Day

Each year Kevin MacNaughton, Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities, and his directors show appreciation to the Facilities Admin Professionals on national Admin Professional Day by providing a tour of one or more of the new building projects. (Group photo is shown above.)

This year, the group toured new Milking Barn on Lake Wheeler Road. They also visited the Feed Mill Educational Unit, Beef Education Unit, Turfgrass Field Lab, and the Structural Pest Management Training and Research Facility.

Gary Cartwright, Director, Dairy Enterprise System, led the group around the Milking Barn area. Gary (in the red shirt) and the group are pictured below with the newly born calfs.

Facilities Division 2nd Annual Habitat for Humanity Day
Habitat Day
On Friday, April 5, 50 Facilities employees (the most ever) volunteered to work with AmeriCorps and Habitat for Humanity of Wake County building five homes for people in need in the Augusta Crossings neighbor hood located off Old Poole Road.
The volunteers were Maurice Alcorn, Samuel Alston, Elizabeth Aponte, Angkana Bode, Steven Bostic, Shirley Boyd, Myrtle Bunch, Shon Burch-Crispin, Craig Carpenter, Gary Colson, Silas Craig, Kevin  Cummings, Carla Davis, Edward Elliott, Chris Glass, Sheri Gorlesky, Rich Hassard, David Hatch, Tierra Hobley, Rodney Holmes, Heath Huovinen, John Jefferds, Tim Kelly, Dean Klemushin, Jenny Korreck, Mark Livesay, Rudy Lopez, Lucy Mabry, Kevin MacNaughton, Giana Malak, Mark Michaelson, John O'Connor, Joshua Pipkin, Bryan Privette, Sally Rau, Cameron Smith, Ralph Smith, Joel Strickland, Michelle Trajanovska, Debra Shepherd, Allen Thompson, Andrew Underhill, Stan Vinston, Jack Walder, Angie Ward, Cynthia Williford, Chris Wolfgang, Charles Wood, Andrew Wyatt, and Mike Yarborough.

On a chilly day in February, Timberwolves, Darryl Long, Cameron Smith, and Mark Michaelson, took the Polar Plunge to raise money for Special Olympics of North Carolina. They were the fourth highest fundraisers.
