Finance & Business Awards for Excellence Reception

On March 27, 2008, Charles Leffler, Vice Chancellor, Finance & Business, hosted the annual Finance and Business Awards for Excellence Reception to recognize achievements of outstanding employees. Congratulations to the 23 Finance & Business Awards for Excellence Facilities Division 2008 nominees. They represent Facilities Division well.

Special congratulations is due to George Smith, Brenda Forster, and Jack Colby (pictured above from left to right with Kevin MacNaughton) who received the Finance & Business Award for Excellence. George Smith received the award because he is the ultimate problem solver in Facilities Operations. On a daily basis, technicians, supervisors, and Project Managers come to George to discuss system operations. George is influential in ensuring building systems are operating efficiently and are not wasting energy. Brenda Forster received the award because she “Goes out of her way to help.” “She’s the go to person…in Capital Project Management” Outside of work, she is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, a foster parent for abused and neglected children, and a meal deliverer to those less fortunate during the holidays. Jack Colby received the award for leadership of the Campus Environmental Sustainability Team, efforts to comply with the President’s Climate Commitment, and innovative approaches to reduce water usage.
