Annual Recognition Luncheon
December 16, 2005
The Facilities Division Recognition Luncheon was held in the Jane S. McKimmon Center on campus. Provost Larry Nielsen, Vice Chancellor Charles Leffler, Finance and Business, and Associate Vice Chancellor Kevin MacMaughton, Facilities, thanked the Facilities Division staff for what they do for the university. Mr. Leffler recognized various employees for individual achievements.
Prior to the speeches, a very amusing, Facilities-produced video was shown. It was a lighthearted look at what a number of staff do for NC State University. The audience throughly enjoyed the show as was evident by the uproarious laughter throughout the showing. Thanks are due to Rob Yaeger, Assistant Director, Facilities Information Systems, and David Wynne, Construction Renovation Technician, who wrote, filmed, directed, and produced a truly memorable and really fun event.

Charles Leffler, Associate Vice Chancellor,
Facilities Division, encouraging his staff of 600+ employees to
join together in achieving TEAM EXCELLENCE
On March 14, 2001, Charles Leffler, Associate Vice Chancellor,
Facilities Division, brought his staff together to help make Facilities
Division TEAM EXCELLENCE a reality. The program goals are to improve
communication among staff and customers, provide better customer service
and make Facilites Division the best possible place to work.
During the months of March and April, Facilities employees met to share
their ideas on how best to achieve those goals. They suggested a number
of ways to do just that during 50 Idea Generation Workshops. Photos
below were taken at some of the meetings.
Following
the 50 Idea Generation Workshops, the
Leadership Team met to work on implementation strategies. Photos below
were taken during the Leadership Team meetings.
The Leadership Team suggested a number of ideas to work
on first. They met with their staffs during the summer months to develop
action plans. Photos that follow were taken during some of those meetings.
As a result of the TEAM EXCELLENCE program, Facilities
Division is working even harder to improve communication with customers.
The pictures below reflect efforts to keep campus customers informed.

TEAM EXCELLENCE STARTS WITH ME!
May 27, 2004 TEAM Excellence Rally
Facilities Division held its TEAM Excellence Rally on May 27 for the entire staff to give an update on TEAM Excellence progress and to introduce the new Facilities Divison Mission / Vision / Core Values. Associate Vice Chancellor Charles Leffler reminded employees that the purpose of TEAM Excellence is simply to be the best we can be. He thanked everyone for their efforts in making TEAM Excellence so successful and he encouraged everyone to continue working to improve communication, provide better customer service, and make Facilites Division the best possible place to work.
Photos of the rally taken at the NC State University Stewart Theater are shown below. The first group of photos shows the presentation of the Core Values represented by the letters "I CARE", Mr. Leffler talking about TEAM Excellence, a skit reminding the audience about the start of the program in 2001, and the NC STATE cheerleaders showing their school spirit.
The first two photos below show one of the competitive and fun games that were played to point out the importance of commmunication skills. The next photo shows leadership team members applauding Facilities employees for the work they do for the university each day, and the final photo in the group shows some of the Facilities Division staff who attended the rally.
Prior to the rally in Stewart Theater, a social was held in the Talley Student Center Ballroom to give the staff an opportunity to get together and have some light refreshments. The NC STATE mascot, Mr. Wuf, and four cheerleaders joined in the festivities as shown below.
