NCSU Waste Reduction and Recycling collaborates with many departments to bring recycling programs to the university and surrounding community.

  PROGRAM:   BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
  WE RECYCLE  

WRR collaborates with many university grous such as Wolfpack Sports Marketing, University Athletics Department, and Caldwell Fellows. WE Recycle is NC State's Stadium Tailgate Recycling Program.  The program relies on volunteers, cruising the tailgating lots in the hours before the game to stress the importance of recycling to the whole NC State community.
  AMERICA RECYCLES DAY   America Recycles Day (ARD) is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and to buy recycled products.
  RECYCLEMANIA   RecycleMania is a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities to their campus communities.
  EARTHDAY/Sustainability   WRR takes part in NCSU’s Earth Day Brickyard celebration on (or around) April 22nd of each year.
  PACK N GO SALE   Every year WRR and University Housing partner to reduce waste during student moveout and every year we recieve more and more donated materials.
  FREE OFFICE SUPPLY GIVEAWAY  

We organize Office Supply Giveaway events to get these trashed treasures back into the hands of staff and students who can use them.
  MOVE-OUT   WRR works with University Housing to collect donations, recyclables, and waste while students are moving out of residence halls. All donations are sold at the yearly Pack N Go Sale.
  MOVE-IN   University Housing works with WRR to provide cardboard dumpsters all over campus for students moving in at the beginning of the school year.
  WASTE AUDITS   Sometimes called "Landfill on the Lawn" is a way for the campus to evaluate how much waste that goes into a dumpster could have been recycled, re-used, or composted. Contact our office if you would like to volunteer for the next Waste Audit.
