Organic chemistry professor Daniel L. Comins is president-elect of the International Society of Heterocyclic Chemistry. His two-year term as president begins in 2013.
The society, founded in 1968, sponsors an international meeting for up to 1,000 participants, helps publish a major reference work, and provides fellowships and awards to encourage outstanding scientists.
