Dear Colleagues,

As members of the NC State faculty, you play an important role in nominating the candidates for Chair of the Faculty. Spring 2012 will see the election of a Chair-Elect of the NC State faculty. Now is the time for nominations, including self-nominations, for this post.

The Chair-Elect will serve during the 2012-2013 year, become the Chair of the Faculty for 2013-2015, followed by a year as immediate Past Chair in 2015-2016. The position is, therefore, a four-year commitment.

All members of the General Faculty are eligible, although knowledge of workings of academic governance and the Faculty Senate is important.

Attached is a summary of the duties of the Chair. If nominees are interested, a discussion with present and Past Chairs of the Faculy may be arranged.
