Is it possible for sustainable design theories and “green” (environmentally friendly) design practices to come together in the architectural world? Find out on October 16, when North Carolina native and Emmy Award winning journalist Charlie Rose moderates a panel discussion with Thom Mayne (affectionately known as the “bad boy” of architecture), public health expert Dr. Dick Jackson and NC State Dean of the College of Design Marvin J. Malecha. The discussion will begin at 6 p.m. - the Millennium Seminar Series' first evening seminar.
North Carolina State University’s Millennium Seminar Series is designed to engage, encourage and inspire NC State students throughout the academic year. Millennium series coordinator and North Carolina first lady Mary P. Easley has recruited a diverse list of speakers for this year’s program -- experts who will discuss some of the key issues facing our world today.
Rose is the host of Charlie Rose, the nightly PBS program that engages America's best thinkers, writers, politicians, athletes, entertainers, business leaders, scientists and other newsmakers. Rose graduated from Duke University with an AB in history and a JD from the school of Law. He is the recipient of the George Peabody Broadcasting Award, the Emmy Award and The CableACE Award.
