Michelle Obama, wife of Illinois senator Barack Obama, will hold a rally Tuesday evening at Reynolds Coliseum in support of her husband's bid to become the Democratic Party's 2008 presidential nominee.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited and tickets are required. No bags, signs or banners will be permitted, and all seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
About 3,000 people are expected to attend, including the general public. Parking and traffic around the area of Reynolds, Talley, Carmichael, Case and Cates Avenue Parking Deck may be difficult on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
The rally will be Michelle Obama's second appearance of the day in North Carolina and highlights her first visit to the state, which will hold primary elections on May 6.
Parking: Guests attending the Obama event can park in the Reynolds Coliseum Parking Deck at no charge by taking the Jeter Drive or Jensen Drive entrances. (If you enter the Coliseum Deck from Cates Avenue, you will be in the Coliseum pay lot where parking is $1 per hour.) To reach the deck, take Hillsborough Street or Western Boulevard to Pullen Road. From Pullen Road, turn onto Dunn Avenue. Jensen and Jeter will be the first and second left turns. (Working media should use the bays next to Reynolds Coliseum).
