When the first pitch of 2008 NCAA Regional play was thrown Friday afternoon, all eyes were on the rich red clay and close-cropped grass of NC State's immaculate Doak Field at Dail Park. A multi-million dollar series of renovations took place less than five years ago, and the work has paid huge dividends – beginning Friday, the Wolfpack (38-20) hosted NCAA round-of-64 baseball matchups on campus for the first time in school history. |
