On the Record

In this third installment of an occasional series of conversations, Chancellor-elect Randy Woodson discusses his assimilation into the Wolfpack family, the importance of collaboration between NC State's colleges and departments, and some of the best ways to get to know students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Let There Be Light

An alum is leading the effort to restore NC State's legendary Color Wall, a symphony of light that once dazzled Hillsborough Street. Beginning March 7, a group of paintings by creator (and former NC State design professor) Joe Cox will be available for purchase as part of an effort to raise money to bring the Wall back to its vibrant, color-changing glory.

A Wolfpack Welcome

On Wednesday, Feb. 17, we welcomed Chancellor-elect W. Randolph Woodson and his wife, Susan, to the NC State family with a pep-band-fueled, high-energy celebratory event at Reynolds Coliseum. Dr. Woodson, who met hundreds of students, faculty, staff and alumni after the festivities, will officially join NC State as chancellor on April 5.

Honoring a Legend

The NC State Student Government is about halfway towards its goal of raising $85,000 to create a memorial for late women's basketball coach Kay Yow. The garden, called the Coaches' Corner, will eventually honor several coaches who have built championship teams at NC State. But Yow was the students' choice to be the first honoree.

Making a Connection

The massive earthquake that struck Haiti on Jan. 12 devastated the country, leading to an estimated 150,000 deaths. Now, an NC State alumnus and Haiti native has employed his talents to help people get in touch with friends and loved ones using social networking technology.

On the Record

In this second installment of an occasional series of conversations with Dr. Randy Woodson, the chancellor-elect discusses his top priority upon arriving on campus, getting to know NC State faculty and staff members, and more.

Five Minutes to Fame

NC State students with ambitions of becoming the next Scorsese, Tarantino or even Michael Bay can now get one step closer to their dream, thanks to the university's participation in the national Campus MovieFest competition.

Affordability Meets Opportunity

NC State is consistently lauded for its efforts to provide a high-quality, affordable education to students like Amaris Hames, who utilized a combination of grants and both subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loans to make it possible to follow her dreams of attending NC State.
