Bookstore moved
I think I am finally starting to get the hang of this blogging thing. The goal after today will be 2 posts a week. Hold me accountable NC State! This post is full of updates for students because many changes are happening on campus this summer.

College Cup Centennial

2011 Inaugural College Cup on Centennial Campus. There are great locations on Centennial to host events that can now be reserved through SORC. Photo by Kelly Hook.

Student organizations that want to host an event outside on Centennial Campus can now reserve that space through SORC! No more hassle or need to contact different people all over campus when holding events outside on Main and Centennial Campus. Student Government experienced this with the College Cup, and I know everyone who wants to program on Centennial is happy to see this policy change!

Jack Moorman

Today Campus Police announced that Jack Moorman will replace former Chief of Police Tom Younce. Moorman has worked at NC State in various roles since 2007. I was fortunate to be a member of the search committee and a participant in the Assessment Center (which is a very intense interview process). David Rainer did a very good job soliciting student feedback and making sure students were a part of the process. Thank you for all your service to NC State Chief Younce, and WELCOME JACK!

Bookstore demolition

Bookstore Bricks

I learned that the block S will be relocated somewhere else on campus. Where should it go?

The bookstore at Talley was demolished this week. If you are not on campus this summer, you might not even recognize this place in the fall. I highly suggest that you “LIKE” Talley Student Center on facebook and browse through their albums.

Lastly, since it is Friday I figured I would do a “Follow Friday” of sorts. Provost Arden joined Twitter this week, who else from NC State would you like to see on Twitter?
