Improved loblolly pines scrub more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Grading the Professors

What happens when we ask students to rate their professors? Rave reviews and positive feedback.

Eyes on the Future

From the moon landing to missions to Mars, NC State has strong ties to space exploration. Learn how you can explore an interest in space research, whether you major in aerospace engineering or prefer food science or textiles instead.

Sending Out an SOS

Weightlessness in space disrupts plant growth. NC State researchers are exploring ways to solve the problem so that plants can help feed space travelers and clean the air and water on future missions.

Packing for Mars

To protect future space travelers, NC State students have designed a 1,900-square-foot inflatable living environment for four to six astronauts.

Serious Silly Putty

What happens when you drop an 80-pound ball of Silly Putty from the top of a nine-story building? Ask the budding engineers and scientists at NC State’s Materials Camp.

We’ve Got Wheels

Frustrated with rising gas prices and the grind of the daily commute? A slew of new and improved transportation options offer NC State students, faculty and staff the opportunity to get around town in eco-friendly style and, in some cases, even eliminate the need for wheels of their own.

An Inspirational Win
