Dana Bible (right), whose battle with leukemia is well-known by Wolfpack and ACC fans alike, is a finalist for the 2011 Uplifting Athletes Rare Disease Champion Award. Bible - NC State's offensive coordinator, quarterbacks and wide receivers coach - was diagnosed in Nov. 2009 and underwent full treatment while maintaining his leadership role with the Wolfpack.

When sophomore Andie Mitchell heard about a late-breaking $750 tuition increase, she called financial aid for help. In two weeks, staff members recalculated grant, scholarship and loan information to help almost 8,000 Wolfpack students, including Mitchell, pay for school.

Spotlight: NC State Athletics highlights the impact of Yow's presence on campus and features interviews regarding her arrival with three of the school's head coaches: football coach Tom O'Brien, men's basketball coach Sidney Lowe and women's basketball coach Kellie Harper. Together, the group is building an athletic program for the future. It premieres on SportSouth Friday, October 22 at 10:30 p.m.

Kay Yow forever linked NC State with breast cancer awareness through her courageous battle with the disease as well as the creation of the annual Hoops for Hope women's basketball fundraiser. Now, during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, NC State floriculturists have unveiled a new symbol of the fight against breast cancer - pink poinsettias.

Living Legacy

Members of the Wolfpack family gathered at the new Coaches' Corner on Tuesday afternoon to remember the late Kay Yow and dedicate a bronze sculpture in her honor. The idea to memorialize Yow - NC State's women's basketball coach for 34 years - grew out of a student suggestion during campus elections.
