2010 NC State Study Abroad Photo Contest
Each year, more than 1,000 NC State students study abroad through our university's study abroad programs, crossing international borders for academic study, cultural immersion, career building, and service. As a result, thousands of amateur photographs have been taken of stunning international landscapes, unique cultural heritages and globally engaged NC State students in action.
Students submitted more than 200 photographs, culled from their visual souvenirs, to the annual Study Abroad Photo Contest. The contest, which began in 2007 as a way to celebrate the intercultural exchange that results from study abroad, is an opportunity for students to share their experiences while showcasing their photography skills.
Voting is open to all members of the NC State campus community, who have the opportunity to weigh in on their favorite photos in each category: The Pack Abroad, Natural & Urban Landscape and People & Culture.
This year, in an effort to connect directly with the student photographers and others in the social media realm, all voting will take place through the NC State Study Abroad Facebook page. Simply choose your favorite photo in each category by "Liking" it. Voters must be Facebook members to vote, and voting
is open through October 16, 2010.
The Study Abroad Office strives to make it possible for all NC State students to engage in academically-based international experiences, which will give them the skills to be active, informed, and culturally sensitive citizens in the global community.
