
About Charles D. Leffler

Charles Leffler is the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business at North Carolina State University. Serving as the Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Leffler oversees an operating budget of over $1 billion and is responsible for all business and finance functions supporting the University’s instructional, research and extension programs. His direct responsibilities include resource management and information systems, facilities management, human resources, environmental health and public safety, financial services and investment management.
Mr. Leffler has played a leadership role in the ongoing development of Centennial Campus, an innovative, award winning Research Science Park, and oversaw NC State's $900 million capital construction program. He works directly with university and government leaders, the Board of Trustees, and local and state government agencies. He is involved in numerous standing and ad hoc campus committees, serves as Treasurer of the University’s Endowment and Investment Funds, and holds responsibility as an officer in various University foundations.
From 1984 until 2004, Mr. Leffler served at NC State in associate vice chancellor roles for business services and facilities. He previously was Director of Campus Services at the University of Cincinnati and with CINTAS as manager of communications and computer operations. Mr. Leffler’s community activities include service as a Board member of the Tammy Lynn Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities and Treasurer of the Batten Disease Support and Research Association.
