At
NC State, we view the relationship we have with our students'
parents and families as a partnership - a partnership created
to help students be successful. We also know that when
parents are informed, students benefit.
Families of new students entering NC State for the spring 2010 semester are invited to attend either of the following sessions. Parents and family members should plan to attend the same session as their student. Students must register separately for their orientation program and may do so on line.

Even if you are already
familiar with NC State's campus, Parents' Orientation will help
you get acquainted with the special services and programs offered
to your student and will address questions and concerns you may
have. It will also offer insights into the adjustments your new
college student and you will face during the next few years. Plus,
you will have the opportunity to taste student life by eating
in the dining hall. Additionally, you will
have the opportunity to meet with many staff and current students.
The sample schedule provided describes
the valuable information that will be presented.
When
you attend Parents' Orientation, you automatically become a member
of the NC
State Parents & Families Association. The Parents
& Families Association is intended to strengthen the relationship
the University has with students' families and is designed to
increase communication with parents and actively involve them
in the life of the University. In return for your membership,
you will have access to valuable programs and services and are
eligible for many great benefits.
If you have
