Can't Attend?

Your participation in Parents' Orientation is strongly recommended. However, if you know now that you will not be able to attend, but would like to receive the Parents' Handbook and other orientation materials, we recommend joining the Parents & Families Association.

Parents & Families AssociationParents & Families Association Registration Fee = $80/household

The NC State Parents & Families Association is intended to strengthen the relationship we have with our students' families and is designed to increase our communication with parents and actively involve them in the life of the University. Members have access to valuable programs and services designed specifically to keep you informed and involved - because when families are informed, students benefit.

Your fee employs 4 professional staff and 14 currently enrolled NC State students dedicated to providing programs and services for the families of NC State University students.  Additionally, members receive the following benefits:

  • the Parents' Handbook
  • NC State wall calendar with important dates
  • parents’ events and activities guide
  • NC State tote bag and other orientation supplies

During EACH academic year your student is enrolled, members also receive:

  • Access to the Parents’ HelpLine 
  • Two issues of the PACKParents newsletter
  • Four electronic newsletters with timely announcements
  • Emergency email alerts in the event of a campus crisis
  • Invitations to events, such as Parents & Families Weekend, Spring Fling, and Siblings Weekend
  • Discounts at over 40 hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues, and other services
