Parents’ Orientation
(Register by June 27, 2008!)
A parallel orientation program for parents and families
of new students…
At NC State, we view the relationship we have with our students'
parents and families as a partnership - a partnership created to
help students be successful. We also know that when parents
are informed, students benefit. That is why we have planned a special
program just for parents during New Student Orientation.
As a parent of a transfer student, you may have previously attended
an orientation program at another institution. We have created
our program with that in mind. You will note from our sample schedule
that we are offering you an opportunity to learn about NC State
and to speak with the offices most pertinent to transfer students
and their families, such as transportation, campus safety, student
health, and billing. We hope that you take the time to read through
this information, look at the sample schedule provided and join
us for this exciting program. Transferring to a new institution
is an exciting time for students and their families and may also
be a challenging transition. Parents' Orientation is here to help
make the transition a smooth one!
New Student Orientation is required for all transfer students
and takes place during the same dates and times as Parents’
Orientation. Students will receive an email with the details they
need to register and prepare for their orientation program. They
may also find information on line at www.ncsu.edu/orientation.
We hope you will be able to join us for Parents’ Orientation.
We are eager for you to feel at home at NC State University.
Sincerely,
