Parents’ Orientation
A parallel orientation program for parents and families
of new students…
At NC State, we view the relationship we have with our students'
parents and families as a partnership - a partnership created to
help students be successful. We also know that when parents
are informed, students benefit. That is why we have planned a special
program just for parents during New Student Orientation.
Parents' Orientation is more than just a campus tour. Even if you are already familiar with NC State's campus, Parents' Orientation will help you get acquainted with the academic programs and special services offered to your student and will address questions and concerns you may have. It will also offer insights into the adjustments your new college student and you will face during the next few years. Plus, you will have the opportunity to taste student life by eating in the dining hall and touring campus. The sample schedule provided describes the valuable information that will be presented. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to meet with many faculty, staff, and current students.
New Student Orientation is required for all spring entry students
and takes place during the same dates and times as Parents’
Orientation. Students will receive an email with the details they
need to register and prepare for their orientation program. They
may also find information on line at www.ncsu.edu/orientation.
We hope you will be able to join us for Parents’ Orientation.
We are eager for you to feel at home at NC State University.
Sincerely,
Jennifer N. Bell, M.Ed.
