Ever wonder who was that friendly voice on the other end of the HelpLine? Now you know. Valerie Oti has assisted thousands of parents who have called the HelpLine with their questions and concerns. Valerie is a graduate of East Carolina University and has been in her current position since 2000. In addition to responding to calls to the Parents' HelpLine, she is responsible for managing the Very Important Parent discount program, supervising temporary help, and assists with all other aspects of the Parents & Families Services.

Parents’ Orientation Ambassadors

North Carolina State University students play an important role in serving the parents and families of North Carolina State University’s undergraduates. Each year, currently enrolled North Carolina State University students are invited to apply for a leadership development program, in which they serve as ambassadors of the University at Parents’ Orientations, Parents & Families Weekend, and Spring Fling. As a Parents’ Orientation Ambassador, students serve on student panels for discussions about student life, lead campus tours, respond to parents and students questions, and help run programs. Ambassadors learn valuable skills, such as public speaking, teamwork, and customer service.
