Parent Volunteer Network: Making a Difference!
At North Carolina State University, we sincerely believe that family involvement is crucial to the success of our students. The Parent Volunteer Network program is designed to give interested parents a meaningful and enjoyable way to become more active in the University community. By participating in the Parent Volunteer Network Program, you become more connected to North Carolina State University, meet other parents and most importantly; serve as a positive role model for students. These volunteer opportunities range from a one-time commitment to several repeat opportunities throughout the year.

Students are exposed to normal workday activities including informational interviewing with professionals, a tour of the organization's facility, and possible meetings with organizational leaders.Externships differ from internships in that they are short term, offer no pay or academic credit, and are hosted by volunteers in various organizations to help students gain an exclusive view of a career field.
Give to the Parents' Fund
Gifts to the Parents’ Fund meet students needs that otherwise would simply go unmet. As a parent volunteer for The Parents’ Fund office, you may be called upon to make a gift to the University and/ or encourage other parents to contribute to the Parents’ Fund to insure that North Carolina State University remains a leader among research universities.
If you have a special skill or interest not listed on this web site and are interested in volunteering in any way, do not hesitate to contact our office. Also, please feel free to encourage other North Carolina State University parents and family members to volunteer and help make the college experience a positive one for every student.
Should you have any questions about the Parent Volunteer Network program, please contact the Parents' Helpline at 877-568-5733 or send an e-mail to Valerie Oti at valerie_oti@ncsu.edu. We look forward to your participation!
