Parents' Orientation 2012
At North Carolina State University, we view the relationship we have with our students' parents and families as a partnership - a partnership created to help students be successful. We also know that when parents are informed, students benefit. Therefore, we would like to invite families of new students to a special program just for them during New Student Orientation.

Meet the NC State 2011 Family of the Year Recipients
For the first time in the award's history, two families were recognized as the 2011 Family of the Year. This year's award goes to the family of Crystal Tsang, a junior in the Poole College of Management and the family of Caroline Funkhouser, a junior in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. Crystal’s essay honors her mother, Candy Yung, father, John Tsang, and brother, William Tsang. Caroline’s essay, honors her father, Ed Funkhouser and late mother, Ellen Teague. Crystal’s and Caroline’s essays were chosen from 27 entries. Crystal and Caroline along with their families were honored during Parents & Families Weekend 2011. Read more here.
Parents & Families Association
When parents are informed...Students Benefit!
We
know that your son or daughter continues to seek your advice and
guidance when it comes to college life (and not just when they
need money). You'll probably get calls about grades, getting an
internship, or roommate issues. This is good. We want you to be
an informed resource when your son or daughter calls. That's why
we recommend joining the Parents & Families Association.
Intended to strengthen the University's relationship with our student's families, the Parents & Families Association is designed to increase communication with parents and actively involve them in the life of the University. As a member, you will have access to valuable programs and services and will be eligible for additional great benefits.
