Somewhere deep in the backwoods of the Bible belt, Daddy Turpin just dropped dead at the kitchen table as his wife is reading him a letter from his sister. Now Bud Turpin was not exactly a God-fearing man–even his wife isn’t wasting a lot of tears grieving for the man she said should have “mean and surly” carved on his tombstone. The rest of his family, an earnest lot of hilariously dysfunctional characters, try to pull themselves out of their own problems long enough to get poor Bud into his “Gentleman Farmer” coffin and into the ground. Contains adult situations and language. Purchase tickets from Ticket Central at 919.515.1100 or www.ncsu.edu/arts.
