Q.Who do the Parents notify if there is an illness or an emergency in the family?

A. Parents & Families Services is responsible for documenting and verifying the anticipated excuses(religious observances, official university functions, etc) and emergencies(death or serious illness in the family).
When calling, you should have your student's identification number, the reason why they are out and when they are expected to return.
You should also communicate to your children that , our department is just informing the instructors of the student's absences, it is the responsibility of the students to contact their professors to make up work and assignments.
