Rally 4 Talley: The Campaign for the New Student Center

After years of extensive planning involving hundreds of students, the University is moving forward to expand our aging student center. Groundbreaking for the Talley additions is projected for 2011, and the renovation of the existing building is planned to follow in early 2013.

The Rally4Talley campaign is the University’s effort to bring to fruition the plans for more modern and technically-advanced amenities for today’s technically-savvy student body. The addition and renovation plans include 170,000 additional square feet, which will double the size of the student center for:

  • lounge and recreation areas good for relaxing, studying, or just hanging out
  • more seating for dining and more options for food-court style venues, plus a full-service coffee bar
  • retail, such as an expanded campus bookstore and commercial retailers
  • offices for student organizations and student services
  • assembly space for small and large meetings, exhibit space and a lecture/performance hall

Plus, the newest addition to the home of the red will be very green. NC State has committed to making all of its buildings earn at least a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certification. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, LEED is the premiere program for making green buildings available to everyone within a generation. Go to rally4talley.com to learn more!
