can I get my student records including grades and schedules?
A. Student grades,
as well as other educational records are confidential under federal law. (http://www.fis.ncsu.edu/ncsulegal/stupriv.htm)
1. When the student is financially dependent (i.e., receives more than 50% of his or her support) from the parent(s). A copy of the parent's most recent federal tax return (showing the student is claimed as a dependent) must be delivered to the Registrar, along with a request for copies of the student's grades. OR
Q. Why aren't grades mailed to students? A. There are now
faster, less costly and more convenient ways to access grades, and most major
institutions have discontinued sending grades home. Students may now access
