In honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, Parents & Families Spring Fling 2008 features events and activities dedicated to celebrating NC State’s commitment to community service and diversity.  Please join us for this special Wolfpack weekend! 

Friday, January 18
The Meeting
Stewart Theatre, 7:00 p.m.
What would have happened if Martin Luther King and Malcolm X were locked in a hotel room before they were killed – just three years apart? Presented by Washington, D.C.’s renowned Pin Points Theatre, The Meeting answers that question in a powerful play depicting an emotional confrontation between the two leaders.  Sponsored by the Black Students Board of the Union Activities Board. Student-Family Service Project
4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Join the festivities early and become a part of NC State’s tradition of service!  Help NC State’s Student Government Association in their efforts to support the NC Children’s Hospital.  You will work with student leaders to construct no-sew blankets and get-well cards for hospitalized children and infants.

David ThompsonGet pepped for the big game – Wolfpack-style!  Enjoy a dinner buffet, live student entertainment, and special guest speaker, David Thompson – ACC Athlete of the Year ‘73 ‘75, Sports Illustrated’s exclusive All-Century Team, and Basketball Hall of Fame member.  In addition to his award-winning career in the ACC, ABA and NBA, Mr. Thompson is most affectionately known at NC State for leading the Wolfpack to the number one ranking and 1974 NCAA Championship with a 30-1 record.  Currently, Mr. Thompson speaks out on making the right choices through belief in God, teamwork, commitment and the pursuit to be your personal best.  As an athlete, husband, father of two daughters and a proud PACK Parent, or a motivational speaker, David Thompson is a true champion. Co-sponsored by the NC State Parents' Council.
