| Job Description: I am the College of
Agriculture and Life Science Coordinator for Sustainable Agriculture and
Coordinator for Sustainable Farming Systems Unit of The Center for Environmental
Farming Systems. For the past seven years I have been a member of a team-taught
a graduate level course offered jointly by Duke, NCSU and UNC (Chapel Hill).
The course is designed to provide an interdisciplinary perspective on interrelationships
between agriculture, conservation of natural resources and environmental
systems and the economic development process.

| Role in Forage Group: My research centers
on applied grassland ecology and management with ruminant animals. Current
emphasis includes silvo-pastoral agroforestry systems and cropping systems
that integrate grazing ruminants. Training, technology transfer and educational
programs are designed for county agents, farmers and agribusiness personnel
striving to improve pasture and grassland management. |
