Personal Information:
My life work is like many of today’s college students who will have several different careers. I began as a “Spy” for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) when I graduated from college. I taught high school and later worked as a mother and an entrepreneur starting four small successful businesses. My family has lived in MA, MI, Mexico, Virginia, DC and lastly in Raleigh. When I sold the businesses, I became president of a community education foundation. My last career has been as an academic advisor at NC State where I have worked for 15 years.
I enjoy helping students succeed and watching them grow. They bring joy to my work and why I consider FYC a fulfilling challenge each day.
Work is important but so is play. I swim, garden, attend my grandson’s baseball games, stroll my granddaughter, read mysteries and relax with my husband and children. My children say our family is so normal it is abnormal. As it should be for a good spy.
