Tutoring

NC State offers a wide variety of academic assistance for all its enrolled students. The Undergraduate Tutorial Center is the hub for most of these services, but there are other departments that offer assistance to specific populations. Academic assistance is provided, for the most part, by "peer tutors," or NC State students that have successfully completed the courses they tutor. Students seeking academic assistance will find several ways to schedule their tutorials: drop-in, sign-up, and one-on-one.

Packstudy Free Walk-In Tutoring (.pdf) : Available to residents of the FYC Village, this free tutoring in is offered Monday -Thursday in FYC 110. Writing and Speaking tutorial services are also available on select days-- see fliers on the first floor of the FYC Commons for details.

Walk-in: no appointment necessary; students simply stop by when they need help; this service can become quite busy and the tutors' time limited during test weeks.

Sign-up/ One-on-One: an appointment system; students should make an appointment with the Undergraduate Tutorial Center (515-3163); a brief orientation is required

Supplemental Instruction: led by experienced students, SI provides an opportunity for you to work with others from your class to review course material together, get questions answered, and solve problems.
