FYC Scholarship Application

Instructions

This application provides the information which the First Year College Scholarship Committee will use in making scholarship awards to FYC students. After reviewing the selection criteria and application guidelines below, compose an appropriate essay in a word processing program. Then, copy and paste that essay into this online application form being sure to complete the personal/contact information as well. Questions may be addressed the FYC Scholarship Committee at fycscholarship@ncsu.edu.

Selection Criteria

Initiative taken to address a perceived need in the community or
initiative taken to improve upon an existing service project
Impact of student's service on his/her local, national, or
global community as discussed in application essay
Impact of service on student's personal growth, learning, or
development as discussed in application essay
Depth of reflection on personal growth, learning, or
development
Length of time committed to service
Personal connections developed through service
Plans for continued commitment to service at NC State
This scholarship is only available to incoming students who have
- Applied for Admission to FYC by November 1
- Been offered Admission by January 30
- Applied for FYC Scholarship by February 15
