The First Year College (FYC) at NCSU encourages first year students to "chart their courses" toward becoming involved, committed, and successful members of the university. FYC is particularly suited to students who prefer a year of general study accompanied with major and career guidance, after which they will be able to make careful yet confident, informed decisions determining their college future. FYC also seeks to immerse students in the many academic, social, and cultural opportunities available at NCSU.
