Bio:

I am a native of Pennsylvania. I have been a resident of North Carolina since 1987. I taught fourth grade for five years in the Wake County Public School System. I worked with Wilson Technical Community College's Upward Bound as Program Coordinator assisting high school students as they made a successful transition to college. I have also worked as an Academic Adviser at Saint Augustine's College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful sons. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, journal writing, and traveling. I hope to write a children's book someday. I am excited to have an opportunity to work with first year students in the First Year College. First year students represent a unique group of students. I especially enjoy helping these students move successfully through the transition process and reaching a comfortable level of decidedness about their futures.
