About Student Council

The First Year College Student Council is the representative body for all FYC students. It works towards developing events that create unity for the College, as well as promoting FYC across campus. The Council participates in many events during the year, including academic programs, social activities, and community service projects. At the beginning of each semester the council meets to create the goals for the group and plans are made for the upcoming semester’s social, academic, and service events.

Funding Requests:


FYC Student Council at times will support or co-sponsor student groups for various campus initiatives. We give preference to groups that will benefit FYC students in some manner. To request funds, please complete the Funding Request Form. Please also contact the Student Council advisor, Michelle Crossley, at michelle_crossley@ncsu.edu to find out when our next meeting is. Individuals/groups requesting funds must have a representative attend a meeting to request funding.
