UGSA Travel Awards for Conferences
The University Graduate Student Association (UGSA) is excited to announce the pilot year of the revamped UGSA travel awards for conferences. These awards of up to $1,500 aim to reward graduate students doing exceptional research and increase the profile of NC State on a national and international level. In providing these awards, UGSA hopes graduate students will be able to attend conferences that ordinarily would be difficult or impossible to attend for financial reasons. The awards can be used for a variety of conference-related travel expenses including airfare, conference registration, meals, and hotels.
Currently, UGSA is offering the award retroactively by reimbursing students who have already attended conferences in the last six months based on a variety of factors, primarily being impact of research, scale of conference, and what type of presentation was given.
To be considered for a travel award, complete the UGSA Award for Conferences Application at http://ugsa.ncsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/UGSA-Award-for-Conferences-Application.pdf, where you will also find general information, deadlines, and more specific requirements for the award. Submissions are due February 15, 2014, for travel occurring before this date, and winners will be announced by mid-April 2014. For travel occurring between February 15, 2014, and September 15, 2014, submissions are due September 15, 2014. Please contact the UGSA Vice-President of Academic Affairs at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
