NC State's Graduate School offers over 220 Master's and doctoral degrees. Each degree program emphasizes scholarly development through formal course work, seminars, research, and independent investigation. Mentoring, research and service partnerships create opportunities for graduate students to apply their skills or test their theories in real-world situations. Our goal is to produce more than graduates — we prepare our students to be leaders in their field and equip them with personal and professional skills that will serve them well whether they pursue academic, government, non-profit, or private sector careers.

Each student's Masters of Science or Ph.D. program is individually planned with the help of an advisory committee of graduate faculty members, chosen by the student to provide a perspective on all areas of advanced knowledge in a particular field of study. It is the individual responsibility of all graduate students to know and understand their degree requirements and to then fulfill those requirements.
