Resource Spotlight: SIS Administrative Reports

Have you ever needed to get a list of your graduate students who are having academic difficulty? Or have you ever had to email everyone currently enrolled in your academic program? The Student Information System (SIS) has a very useful set of reports, one of which we are highlighting in this document. We believe this resource will a tremendous help to you.

Assuming you have the appropriate security clearance, you can get to this resource from the MyPack portal by clicking on the Student Information Systems menu item, then Admin Services, then Reports, then Admin Reports. You should see a page in which you can choose to run a report on students associated with an academic organization (department) or an academic career, program, plan or sub-plan (among those to which you have access). Note the list of several available reports in the drop-down list. The "Enrolled Students" report is the one we're featuring here. Pick the academic org or career, program, plan and/or sub-plan, along with the desired term from the drop-down. You can also select several fields to include in the results. Finally, click on the GO! button at the bottom to view results.

Now here's the neat part. If you click the Download button, you will be prompted to save the generated list as an Excel spreadsheet. From that point, you can incorporate the list into a departmental database for further analysis, create mailing labels, extract the email addresses into a distribution list or personal contact group, and a number of other things.

Thank you for giving the NC State Graduate School the opportunity to serve you. Should you have further questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us. Please contact the Graduate School Webmaster if you need help obtaining access to these resources.
