NASA GRADUATE STUDENT RESEARCHERS PROGRAM
SPONSORING AGENCY: National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
PROGRAM SUMMARY: The goal of NASA’s GSRP is to cultivate research ties to the academic community, to help to meet the continuing needs of the Nation’s aeronautics and space effort by increasing the number of highly trained scientists and engineers in aeronautics and space-related disciplines, and to broaden the base of students pursuing advanced degrees in science, mathematics, and engineering.
Fellowships are awarded for graduate study leading to research-based masters or doctoral degrees in the fields of science, mathematics and engineering. Grants of up to $30,000 are awarded for one year and are renewable, based on satisfactory progress and availability of funding, for a total of three years. Approximately 300 graduate students are supported on this program each year. Students may apply at any time during their graduate career or prior to receiving their baccalaureate degree. An applicant must be sponsored by his or her department chair or faculty advisor. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 1, 2011
