Celebrate With Us!
|
Please join the NC State Graduate School in celebrating the third annual Graduate Education Week. Festivities will begin on Sunday (March 20th) and continue through Saturday (March 26th). The International Students Family Fair kicks off the week by celebrating our international graduate students and their families. The Fair, presenting cultures and cuisines from around the world, will be held on Sunday, March 20th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at E.S. King Village. On Monday, show support for your fellow grad students by attending the 6th Annual Graduate Student Research Symposium. And on Friday, join in the ever-popular Deans vs. Grads Bowling Night at The Alley on Hillsborough Street. A Habitat for Humanity community service event on Saturday completes the week's events. There are also a variety of informative seminars and workshops scheduled throughout the week. For a full listing of events or more information regarding Graduate Education Week, please visit www.ncsu.edu/grad/GEW or contact the Graduate School. Graduate Education Week highlights the great work of our graduate students. In addition, the week will serve as an opportunity to attract prospective students and legitimize the need for state funding. The University North Carolina system offers more than 700 master's and 200 doctoral and professional degree programs. From agriculture to creative writing to nuclear engineering, graduate studies in North Carolina drive the production of knowledge and contribute substantially to our state's economic and social prosperity. Graduate education benefits the state of North Carolina in a number of ways.
