Kappa Delta House Nearing Completion
Greek Village Menu
Contractors are working at a rapid pace on the Kappa Delta house, slated to open for residents in late September. Workers are busy on interior finish work installing doors, trim, floor tiles, and painting the interior of the house. Shortly, they will begin installing the elevator and commercial kitchen appliances in the 18,000 square foot house that will soon open for 40 residents and the entire chapter to begin using as their home. Other work coming in the next couple of weeks will be concrete pours for the exterior walkways and back patio area, wrought iron railings on the front and back porches, and the installation of bathroom fixtures throughout the house. A unique feature of each of the student bedrooms will be a built-in charging station on the wall for residents to charge phones, iPods and other electronics.
The Kappa Delta house is funded by the Eta Upsilon House Corporation of Kappa Delta with assistance from Kappa Delta Sorority. WT Barker is the general contractor for the project. The Kappa Delta house is the first privately-funded chapter house to be built as part of the Greek Village development project. When completed, Greek Village will feature 20 privately-funded chapter houses, 16 University-owned townhouses and an apartment building.
