Greek Week 2008: April 7 - 11

Greek Week 2008 will be held April 7 – 11 this year and is being coordinated by the All Greek Council.  AGC Vice-President for Programming and Service Morgan Gannon serves as the Greek Week Chair this year. Contact Morgan via email for program and participation information.

The purpose of Greek Week is to unite and support the Greek community through a week of events promoting the Pillars of Greek Life: Brotherhood, Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Sisterhood. Greek Week also promotes the fraternity and sorority experience to the larger campus community. The Collaborative Greek Council, Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Panhellenic Association support Greek Week.

Greek Week is a long-standing tradition for many of our organizations. Some of the traditional events seen during Greek Week in the past include a Kick-Off Cook-out, Banner Competition, Lip Sync Competition, Tug-O-War, and Finale Awards Ceremony. Community service is always a core component of Greek Week. Each year, one or two special events are added to keep Greek Week timely and exciting. This year’s special events will focus on the 2008 Election year to promote student awareness and involvement in the political process. Events being planned are a voter registration drive and forum on the North Carolina race for Governor.

Each participating chapter must have a Greek Week representative to assist in the planning, communication, and implementation of this incredible week of activities.
