The NC State Greek community will again provide volunteer assistance to new students moving into the residence halls on Saturday,
August 15th and we need all our fraternity and sorority members to make this another successful effort! For the past 10 years,
we have provided over 500 volunteers to welcome our new students and their parents to NC State and this year our goal is 750
volunteers. Our effort is vital to making that first day a successful one for the students and the University. It is a great
way to meet new students and demonstrate the tremendous benefits of being Greek.
Volunteers will work one shift of three hours on Saturday, August 15th. Shifts are 9am to 12pm or 12pm to 3pm. If you are interested in signing up to work an additional shift from 8am 11:00am on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday to assist with early move-in for Symposium or Thursday 9am 12pm or 12pm 3pm to assist with WISE (Women in Science and Engineering), you may request that shift as well. All volunteers must wear a red "Go Greek" shirt that identifies you as an official Move-in Volunteer that day. If you do not have a "Go Greek" shirt, check with your chapter to see if they ordered one for you. Chapter orders are due by June 15th. If not, a limited number of individual shirts will be available for purchase in the Greek Life office in 1104 Pullen Hall for $7 on a first-come, first-served basis.
All fraternity and sorority volunteers must sign up individually using the online registration form. Please select a first choice and second choice shift, and provide contact information. After August 8th, you will be able to log-in to a secure site and view your shift and location assignment. A list of shift and location assignments for each participating chapter will be emailed to Chapter Presidents the week of August 11th.
