February is MGC Month
The Multicultural Greek Council takes center stage in February with a month of programming highlighting its member organizations and the various cultures they represent individually. Events will take place throughout the month and will be sponsored by individual fraternities and sororities. Phi Sigma Nu Fraternity, Inc. will host a Spoken Word Night; Lambda Theta Phi Latin Sorority, Inc. will teach us about astrology and zodiac signs, while Delta Sigma Iota Fraternity, Inc. showcases their annual Virsa Punjab Da Bhangra dance competition. MGC month will also include a community service project and a Cultural Showcase sponsored by the entire Council and open to all members of the community. For more information, check out the Greek Life calendar for dates and updated information throughout the month.
The Multicutural Greek Council consists of five fraternities and six sororities, each of which provides unique programming connected to a specific culture or focuses on building a multi-cultural community. MGC was originally created in 1999 as the Collaborative Greek Council and adopted the MGC name in July 2012 to better reflect the purpose of its member chapters.
