Work Continues on Sigma Nu Fraternity

Posted: 2013-02-28

Construction on the new Sigma Nu fraternity house continued on schedule despite over 4 1/2 inches of rain in February! Contractors worked extra hours and over weekends to excavate the site for the foundation and the first floor of the building. Workers spent the last week of February pouring concrete footers and foundation walls then moved into construction of the interior stairwell and elevator shaft. Over Spring Break, they will install the under-slab plumbing and drainage systems in preparation for pouring the concrete first floor. This will lead into delivery and installation of structural steel to frame out the first floor of the building some time in mid-March. Check out the latest construction photos and let's all hope for some drier weather in March and April so they can stay on schedule for a January 2014 opening!
