Brotherhood & Sisterhood

A very exciting part of fraternity and sorority life at NC State is the social and recreational opportunities. Through a variety of events we provide opportunities to meet and interact with members of fraternities and sororities and other campus organizations. Some of the ways we balance scholarship with fun are: social events with other chapters, formal dinner dances, philanthropic events, Greek Week, award banquets, alumni get-togethers, sorority exchange dinners, Homecoming, and intramural sporting events. On average, our chapters interact with alumni 3 to 4 times a year, our council 5 times a year, and chapters of another council 6 times a year.

Student Testimonials

Blane Parker“As a freshman at NC State, I never realized what an impact joining a sorority would have on the rest of my college experience. By joining a sorority, I became part of an amazing organization of women connected through ideals, values, and the bonds of sisterhood.

Joining my sorority is a decision I will never regret, as it has helped define who I am and offered me strength and guidance whenever needed. I have built relationships here that will last throughout my life.”

Michelle Rodriguez“The sisterhood I have experienced in my sorority has had an influence on my life tremendously. Becoming an Hermana of this beautiful organization has opened my eyes and allowed me to embrace my culture and appreciate myself more as a Latina woman. I have also realized that I have wonderful Hermanas (sisters) to support me in my time of need as well as commend me in my accomplishments. There are truly not enough words to express the love and respect I have for these women. I can honestly say I think of them as an important part of my life, today and forever.”

“Experiencing brotherhood is the best decision a young man can make during college. It opens the door to leadership, friendship, and networking opportunities that last a lifetime. The fraternity experience creates a strong bond between the members in your fraternity, the Greek community, and the campus. Becoming a member of a fraternity is a priceless opportunity that will lead to many lasting memories and success in the future.”

“Sisterhood represents your college family. They are the ones who love you the most, always have the kleenox ready for hard times and sickness, and are there for your greatest moments. Rituals make the bond stronger but most importantly memories are made that will stay with you forever. Without sisters, the college years would not have been as exciting”

"Becoming involved in a Greek organization has taught me that sisterhood is more than wearing the same shirt on letter day, having the same friends or hanging out together. To me, sisterhood is an honor and a responsibility to myself and my sisters to uphold our shared ideals and morals. It is a connection and a bond that will last well beyond our years at NC State."

Being a student on a large campus you quickly develop a sense of loneliness even if you are around other students all the time. Having a connection to my Fraternity Brothers has moved me into a place of knowing that I always have a supportive environment around me, even after I graduate and move on with my life.
