The Department of Greek Life recognizes undergraduate general or "social" fraternities who engage in a broad spectrum of leadership, service, academic, and social activities. These organizations are open to all students on campus, regardless of academic major. Fraternities recognized by the Department are local chapters of national organizations and each is a member of one of our Greek Councils. This listing of organizations is divided by Greek Council and in alphabetical order.
The Department of Greek Life does not recognize academic or honor organizations who may also use Greek letters for their name. Those organizations may be registered through our Student Organization Resource Center (SORC) on campus.

Delta Sigma Phi has failed to comply with Rule 11.56.02 which outlines criteria to maintain recognition within the Department of Greek Life. On July 20, 2012, the fraternity was issued a recovery plan which must be completed in stages throughout the academic year to successfully regain recognition. They are allowed to operate as a registered student organization in the interim, but will not continue to do so beyond the 2012-2013 academic year if they do not successfully complete the recovery plan and regain recogntion.
Zeta Psi fraternity has been suspended from the university as a result of hazing, alcohol violations, and providing false information to the university. The chapter is no longer a registered student or Greek organization at NC State and is not affiliated in any way with the university. Parents should be concerned if their son is a member or is considering membership.
