Greek Leaders Retreat
GLR kicks off the new year and is an opportunity for council officers and chapter presidents to further develop as leaders. This is not your average leadership conference, retreat, institute, or boring workshop! So put all of those preconceived notions about retreats aside. Instead, imagine leaders from across the North Carolina State University Greek community coming together to set their own agenda, ask their own questions, share of their experiences, listen to the experience of others, and learn as a community what it means to have the best possible Greek experience at NC State University. For 2009, GLR is being held from January 16-18 at Fort Caswell on Oak Island, NC.
Mid-american Greek Council Association/National Black Greek Leadership Conference
This three-day national leadership conference brings student leaders from across the nation for a series of keynote speakers, educational workshops, and leadership seminars designed to improve campus Greek councils. Representatives from NC State’s Collaborative Greek Council, Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Panhellenic Association attend this held each February in St. Louis, MO. For more information, visit www.mgca.org
New Member Institutes
The Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association host programs to welcome new members to the Greek community during their first semester of membership. Usually held in October by both councils and in March by IFC for spring new members, these programs are provide new members with an orientation to the values, opportunities, and responsibilities of fraternity and sorority membership.
The LeaderShape Institute
NC State is one of more than 70 colleges and universities to host the LeaderShape Institute and each year, the Greek community sends multiple student participants.
Since its inception in 1986, The LeaderShape Institute, has developed a national reputation as one of the premier leadership development programs for young adults.
