Scholarship

Academic excellence is a tradition and priority of the NC State Greek community. First and foremost, members of the NC State Greek community are students. We pride ourselves on academic accomplishments and work hard to maintain high scholarship standards. We help our members excel as students; chapters provide group study sessions and workshops such as test-taking strategies, study skills, time management, and choosing a major.

NC State’s Greek community provides incentives and recognition to its members for academic achievement. The Greek community sponsors academic honor clubs such as the Order of Omega.  Members’ achievements are recognized through national and local scholarships, banquets and awards.

Student Testimonials

Erin Dippel“To me, having a support system around me helps me focus and keep myself on track when it comes to scholarship. It’s important to have people you trust and love to lean on and go to for help. We have study sessions at the house, and a scholarship chair to make sure everyone stays on track. We do it because we care about each other and our future success”

Mallory Smith“Achieving and excelling in the classroom is very important to me, and knowing that my grades not only affect me, but my sisters as well gives me the extra motivation I need to keep me going and hold me accountable for my school work. I don’t want to let them down.”

"Since I've become Greek, I'm not just Jeffrey, I'm Jeffrey who now represents Alpha Phi Alpha, so my grades are associated with my chapter now. Scholarship is apart of our fraternity values and to be the most well rounded student leader I need to make sure that I make scholarship a priority. I'm trying to be the best Alpha I can be, in doing so I have to uphold manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind. This is the vow I choose to take and Ii must make it my duty to uphold it."
