Service

Each year, members of the Greek community contribute thousands of hours and dollars to local and national charities. We host philanthropic events and invite other Greek chapters and the NC State community to participate. Events provide friendly competition and social interaction for the campus and surrounding community. More importantly, these events provide opportunities to raise needed funds and assistance for numerous charities. In addition, Chapters have individual projects throughout the year, which involve tutoring/mentoring area youth, collecting food and supplies, and encouraging awareness for a host of different causes.

Student Testimonials

Jessica Gil”I enjoy giving to the community and serving in any way possible. There is no better way to get involved in service than through a Greek organization, they are focused to one philanthropy. The Greek organizations are able to serve that philanthropy through a campus wide event to raise money, and also through volunteer hours. Serving is very rewarding. There is no better feeling than knowing you have the ability to help those in need.”

Brian Goins"Serving the community makes me feel complete. There's nothing more fulfilling than the feeling that you get when you've just said or done something that you know is going to make a difference in somebody else's life. Whether it's cleaning up the side of an aesthetically atrocious highway, or giving words of encouragement to a high school student for their next Calculus test, I feel like I made something better for somebody, and I feel better for having done so."

Emily K. Gray“I feel like service has strengthened the bond between my sisters and me. We share our passion for finding a cure for Alzheimer's and together we raised over $10,000 last year. I can't imagine raising that much money without the determination and support of my sisters. A group of us got together for Service N.C. State, and even though it was 9 a.m. and we were standing for 3 hours, we had the best time and accomplished packaging food for thousands of people. That's what I call sisterhood!”
