Responsibilities: Council Oversight, Community Level Programming, Management of University Owned Housing, Greek Village Construction and Amenities and Overall responsibility for the Department.
Background: John is a Phi Kappa Tau from Penn State University. John earned his Master's Degree from the University of Florida and worked at the University of Michigan as the Fraternity Advisor for five years before joining the NC State staff in the Summer of 2000. John has served as a Lead Facilitator for LeaderShape for several years, and is currently a member of the AFA Foundation Board.
Shelly
Brown Dobek
Associate Director of Greek Life
Responsibilities: Membership (Recruitment/Intake, Extension/Expansion and Colony Support), Chapter Development and Programming, Assessment, Greek Village Lots, and Townhouse project.
Background: Shelly is a Delta Zeta from Southern Illinois University. Shelly earned her Master's Degree from SIUC and worked at Bowling Green State University coordinating Leadership Programs, Sorority Housing and advising the NPHC for three years before joining the NC State staff in the Fall of 2001. Shelly spends her weekends traveling to campuses around the country presenting workshops on recruitment, hazing and leadership diversity. She is also on the Executive Board of the Association of Fraternity Advisors.

Responsibilities: Chapter and Council Officer Database Management and overall Office Coordination
Background: Mitzi hails from New York and moved to Raleigh in 1989. She is a proud mother of three and grandmother of two.
Jimmy
Byars
Graduate Assistant
Responsibilities: Advisor to the Interfraternity Council and Membership (recruitment/Intake)
Background: Jimmy is a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity at Murray State University where he earned his B.S.B. in Business Administration. As an undergraduate, Jimmy served as his chapter’s new member educator and risk management chairman and was a university peer educator and freshman orientation leader. Before coming to NC State, Jimmy worked for his Fraternity Headquarters for two years where he specialized in recruitment and coordinated the Chapter Advance program. Jimmy is in the first year of his Master’s program in Higher Education Administration and will graduate in May 2010.
Angie Carter

Responsibilities: Advisor to the NPHC and CGC Councils and Chapter Development/Standards
Background: Angie is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. from Eastern Kentucky University where she earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences. As an undergraduate, Angie served as her chapter’s Vice President and served on the Executive Board of the NPHC. Angie was also involved in Student Government, Student Alumni Ambassadors, was an Orientation Leader and Community Service Intern for the Office of Student Life. Angie will start the first year of her Master's program in Higher Education Administration in Fall 2009 and will graduate in May 2011.
Brooke Kingsley
Graduate Assistant
Responsibilities: Advisor to Panhellenic Association and Academic Support
Background: Brooke is a member of Phi Mu Sorority and recent graduate of Purdue University where she earned her degree in Sales Management. She served as Director of Finance for the Panhellenic Association, and helped lead Purdue's pilot of the NPC Social Policy Reform. Brooke is also a graduate of the Undergraduate Interfraternity Intsitute (UIFI). Brooke is pursuing her Masters Degree in Higher Education and will graduate in May 2011.
