Background: John is a Phi Kappa Tau from Penn State University. John earned his Master's Degree from the University of Florida and worked at the University of Michigan as the Fraternity Advisor for five years before joining the NC State staff in the Summer of 2000. John has served as a Lead Facilitator for LeaderShape for several years, and is currently a member of the AFA Foundation Board.
Shelly Brown Dobek

Background: Shelly is a Delta Zeta from Southern Illinois University. Shelly earned her Master's Degree from SIUC and worked at Bowling Green State University coordinating Leadership Programs, Sorority Housing and advising the NPHC for three years before joining the NC State staff in the Fall of 2001. Shelly spends her weekends traveling to campuses around the country presenting workshops on recruitment, intake, hazing and social justice. She is also the 2012 President for the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors.
Mitzi Horton

Background: Mitzi hails from Bronx, New York and moved to Raleigh in 1989. Mitzi graduated from Elizabeth Seton College in Yonkers, NY in 1980 with an Associate in Applied Science. After graduation, Mitzi joined the United States Army where she was employed as an Administrative Clerk. Mitzi served her time overseas in Bad Kreuznach, Germany where she met her husband Michael. Mitzi is the proud mother of three and grandmother of six.

Background: Alyssa is a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, Inc. She graduated in 2013 from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication, concentrating in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication. During her time at ECU, she served her chapter as the Director for Campus Activities, coordinating participation in Homecoming, Greek Week, and other campus-wide events. She started an all-Greek women?s Bible study, alongside one of her sisters, and led an all-Greek cohort of students for ECU?s Leadership Odyssey program. She also worked as a Writing Consultant for the University Writing Center, an Orientation Assistant for the Office of Student Transitions & First Year Programs, and a Marketing Assistant for Campus Recreation & Wellness. Alyssa is currently pursuing a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration at NC State.

Background: Shane is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He graduated in 2012 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. As an undergraduate, he served as President and Treasurer for the National Pan-Hellenic council at UNCC, was the Keeper of Records and Historian for his undergraduate chapter. Shane was also a mentor for The University Transition Opportunities Program (UTOP), which helps facilitate the underrepresented student's transition from high school to college. Now at NC State, Shane is pursuing his Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration.

Background: Natalie is a member of Gamma Eta Sorority, Inc. She graduated in 2013 from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minors in Educational Studies, Theater, and Family, Youth, and Community Sciences. During her time at UF, she served as the Director of Programming for the Multicultural Greek Council and a Florida Greek Ambassador, the official student ambassadors for Sorority and Fraternity Affairs. She was the Overall Director for her chapter's annual philanthropy, Gamma Eta's Lupus Fashion Show, which raises awareness and funds for the Lupus Foundation of America. She was also involved with Florida Players, UF's student theater company, serving as their Historian and Treasurer. Natalie is currently pursuing a master of education in higher education administration at NC State.

Background: Alex graduated from the University of Maine in 2011 with dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biological Engineering with Spanish and Pre-Medical Studies minors. During his time at UMaine, he was the founding president of Iota Nu Kappa Multicultural Fraternity. He was also actively involved in the Office of Multicultural Programs, UMaine Student Government, and Alternative Spring Break. At NCSU, he is the 2012 recipient of the CALS Dean's Graduate Research Assistantship and is a Masters of Science candidate in the Department of Microbiology.
