Background: John is a Phi Kappa Tau from Penn State University. John earned his Master's Degree from the University of Florida and worked at the University of Michigan as the Fraternity Advisor for five years before joining the NC State staff in the Summer of 2000. John has served as a Lead Facilitator for LeaderShape for several years, and is currently a member of the AFA Foundation Board.
Shelly Brown Dobek

Background: Shelly is a Delta Zeta from Southern Illinois University. Shelly earned her Master's Degree from SIUC and worked at Bowling Green State University coordinating Leadership Programs, Sorority Housing and advising the NPHC for three years before joining the NC State staff in the Fall of 2001. Shelly spends her weekends traveling to campuses around the country presenting workshops on recruitment, intake, hazing and social justice. She is also the 2012 President for the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors.

Background: Mitzi hails from New York and moved to Raleigh in 1989. She is a proud mother of three and grandmother of three.

Background: Megan is a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority from Christopher Newport University. She graduated cum laude in May 2010 with her Bachelor of Arts in psychology. During her undergraduate years, Megan served as president and treasurer of her chapter, was a Panhellenic Council recruitment counselor, and was a member of Order of Omega. She is also a graduate of the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI). Before starting at NC State in July of 2011, Megan served as a leadership consultant for Alpha Sigma Alpha National Headquarters, which involved traveling to numerous chapters nationwide to coach women in chapter operations, recruitment and finances. Megan is pursuing her Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration and will graduate in May 2013.

Background: Kiley is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2007 from Elon University with a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications. As an undergraduate, she served as her chapter's House Manager and as Vice President followed by President of Elon's Panhellenic Executive Board. She was also involved in the Honors Fellows Program and the Public Relations Student Society of America. Upon graduation in 2007, Kiley spent a couple years in Washington, D.C. working for The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars. She then moved on to New York University where she worked in graduate admissions. Most recently, she worked at her Alma mater in the Office of Alumni Engagement within University Advancement. Now at NC State, Kiley is pursuing her Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration and will graduate in May 2014.

Background: Tonia is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She graduated in 2011 from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors of Arts in Human Biology with a concentration in Applied Behavioral Sciences. As an undergraduate, she served as an officer on her chapter's Standards Board, was a Student Government Senator and worked as the Undergraduate Leadership Coordinator in the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. Tonia was also an executive officer of KU Dance Marathon, a non-profit organization that raises funds for children's hospitals. Now at NC State, Tonia is pursuing her Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration and serves as the Higher Education Association Recruitment Weekend Co-Chair.

Melissa graduated from The College of William and Mary in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in psychology. She was also a member of the varsity gymnastics team during all four years at William and Mary. Melissa is pursuing her Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration and works as the graduate assistant for NC State's Students Advocating for Youth (SAY) living and learning village. She volunteers in the office of Academic Support for Student Athletes here at NC State as well.

Summer is a member of Kappa Delta sorority from the College of William and Mary, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Arts in History in 2010. While there, she served as an associate editor and writer for the student newspaper The Flat Hat, an Orientation Aide, a Student Mentor, and as the Vice President-Public Relations for her chapter. She also participated in international service trips to the Dominican Republic and Honduras and completed the Women's Leadership Program. After graduating from college, Summer spent a year working for a scholarship foundation in Northern Virginia. She is currently in her second year of the Masters of Higher Education Administration program and works in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Duke University while also serving as the Higher Education Association Vice President for Engagement.

Background: Heather is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration. While at UNCW, she served as Membership Coordinator for the Theta Mu chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta, Fundraising Chair and Secretary on the Executive Board for Order of Omega, and as a Panhellenic Council recruitment counselor. Heather also served on the Advisory Board for SGA and was a Peer Educator with UNCW Health Promotion. Now at NC State, Heather is pursuing a Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration and works as the Graduate Assistant for NCSU New Student Orientation.
Alex Ortiz

Background: Alex graduated from the University of Maine in 2011 with dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biological Engineering with Spanish and Pre-Medical Studies minors. During his time at UMaine, he was the founding president of Iota Nu Kappa Multicultural Fraternity. He was also actively involved in the Office of Multicultural Programs, UMaine Student Government, and Alternative Spring Break. At NCSU, he is the 2012 recipient of the CALS Dean's Graduate Research Assistantship and is a Masters of Science candidate in the Department of Microbiology.

Background: Sarah is a member of Delta Zeta Sorority from NC State. She graduated in May 2010 with her Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal & Public Communications with a minor in Political Science. As an undergraduate, Sarah held many chairman and judicial positions within her chapter as well as being involved on campus in Student Government as a student Senator and Chairman of Government Operations. Sarah has been connected with the Department of Greek Life throughout her undergraduate years as a student worker and currently as a Chapter Resident Adviser for Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Now at NC State, Sarah is pursuing a Masters in Arts and Liberal Science with concentrations in Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, and Communications and will graduate in May 2013. Sarah currently works for Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan, LLP in downtown Raleigh.

Dave recently graduated from NC State with his Ph.D. in physics. Before arriving in Raleigh, he graduated from Beloit College magna cum laude with majors in physics and Russian, and a minor in Russian studies. As an undergrad he joined the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. Dave is a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. Besides being a chapter resident advisor, he is also a Postdoctoral Teaching Scholar at NC State and a coach for the US Physics Team.
